2016 Summer Picnic/Lewis Results

The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club held their annual membership picnic under beautiful skies at their clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, July 16. About 80 people turned out to enjoy a day of trap shooting, over $4,000 in raffles and good food.

Winner of the Big 4+'s annual raffle were drawn at 4 PM. Sue Moore (DePere) won the first prize, a Barnett Brothers Crossbow Package. Scott Taylor (West Bend) won the second prize, a Wildgame Innovations Game Camera, Mary Borske (Alvin) won the third prize, two cases of 12-ga shotgun shells; John Kremer (Fond du Lac) and Mike Smith (Tipler)  won the fourth and fifth prizes, $50 each cash. Numerous other prizes donated by area businesses and national manufacturers were also raffled off throughout the day.

The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 65 entries this year and paid out 5 classes, with each class winning $91. Shooters were allowed two entries.  Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. The winners and their scores were: Ed Borske (Alvin) with 49, Curt Riege (Watertown) with 46, Russ Bouck (Amherst Junction) with 44, Ed Borske (Alvin) with 42 and Bill Kramer (Lena) with 38. A consolation shoot was also held, the winner was Tracy Schadrie.   (Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $72 each. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. John Schultz (Salem) won 25 straight on trap 1 and Jerry Werner (Mount Pleasant) won 25 straight on trap 2.  Ed Borske also won High Gun and John Schultz won Long Run.  Numerous steak, bacon and chicken competitions were held resulting in spirited shoot offs.

The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club extends their thanks to all who helped make this year's picnic a success. A special thanks goes to the volunteer workers and also the businesses who donated prizes and help to sell raffle tickets.
